EXPERIENCING THE CULTURE OF THE LAND OF KIMCHI: HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS EXCITED TO EXPLORE KOREAN STUDIES AT DNTU EXPERIENCE DAY 2026

Within the framework of DNTU Experience Day 2026, the experiential booth of the Oriental Studies Program (Korean Studies) became a highlight that attracted a large number of high school students. Here, participants not only learned about the academic program but also immersed themselves in the vibrant cultural atmosphere of Korea.

The Appeal of a Mini Korean Cultural Space

Following the success of previous career-orientation activities, Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) welcomed hundreds of students from Vĩnh Cửu High School, Lê Quý Đôn Primary–Secondary–High School, and Quyết Thắng High School. From early morning, the Korean Studies experience area was filled with lively K-pop music and the colorful display of traditional Hanbok costumes.

Unlike conventional classroom lessons, students had the opportunity to:

· Experience Hanbok attire: Students selected and wore traditional Korean costumes themselves, capturing memorable “check-in” photos around the campus.

· Engage in practical language exchange: They practiced writing their names in the Hangul alphabet and learned basic conversational expressions with senior university students.

· Explore Korean cuisine and traditional games: Participants enjoyed cultural activities such as Tuho (arrow throwing) and Jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking), which created an atmosphere full of laughter and friendly interaction.

Oriental Studies (Korean Studies) at DNTU: Learning Through Practice

A key highlight of the experience session was the sharing from current students of the faculty. High school participants raised many interesting questions about academic pathways, internship opportunities with Korean companies, and international student exchange programs.

“I was surprised to learn that Korean Studies at DNTU does not only focus on language learning but also provides in-depth knowledge of Korean culture, economy, and working styles. Today’s hands-on experiences helped me gain a much clearer understanding of my future career possibilities,” shared a student from Vĩnh Cửu High School.

For DNTU students, the event was also an opportunity to develop their event-organization skills, presentation abilities, and pride in their academic program. Every experiential activity was carefully prepared, reflecting the university’s educational philosophy of “Learning by Doing.”

Beyond entertainment, the event also served as an important bridge helping high school seniors better understand the development potential of Korean Studies, especially in the context of the rapidly increasing wave of Korean investment in Vietnam.

Although DNTU Experience Day 2026 has come to an end, the positive impressions of a dynamic, modern, and culturally rich university environment will remain with the participants. The event serves as a meaningful stepping stone, helping students confidently make the right choice as they embark on their journey toward university education.
